How to take care of your Barest shoes

Below you’ll find simple guidelines to help you care for your shoes properly.

Like all quality footwear, your Barest shoes benefit from gentle, consistent care — and will reward you with years of enjoyment.

• Brush off dirt using a soft nubuck brush or a dry microfiber cloth.
• Avoid wet cleaning – water can leave stains as it dries.
• Never wash your shoes in a washing machine.
  

• Use nubuck-specific care products only.
• Apply a nubuck or suede protection spray before first wear to help repel dirt and light moisture. Reapply occasionally.
• Avoid oily or greasy creams — they can darken the leather and change its texture.

• If your shoes get wet, let them air dry at room temperature.
• Keep them away from direct heat sources such as radiators or sunlight.
• To help maintain their shape, use shoe trees or gently stuff them with paper during storage.
  

• Don’t use general leather products made for smooth or patent leather – especially oily creams.
• Avoid exposure to heavy rain, water, or mud when possible – nubuck is best suited for dry conditions.
• No washing machine. Ever.
