Delivery, returns and refunds information

Here you’ll find everything you need to know about delivery, returns, and refunds — so you can shop with confidence.

Please note that all returns must be registered using the return request form at the end of this page.

We do our best to make sure your new Barest shoes reach you as quickly as possible. We aim to send out the package same or next working day after the order has been completed.

Below is a table with approximate delivery times to different regions. Numbers indicate working days.

Once your package is on its way from our warehouse in Estonia, you’ll receive an email with tracking details.

Please note that we’re unable to ship to P.O. boxes at this time.

We deliver worldwide — so you can enjoy Barest shoes wherever you are.

For deliveries outside the EU, local customs duties and import taxes may apply, depending on your country’s regulations. These fees are set by local authorities and are the responsibility of the customer. Payment is usually required before or upon delivery.

Please check your local import rules before placing an order to avoid any unexpected charges later on.

Once your order has been handed over to the shipping company, it is in their care and responsibility. Unfortunately, we are not able to refund or replace orders that are marked as delivered but cannot be located, or that are lost or stolen after delivery.

If your package appears to be missing or if you need help with locating your tracking number, please contact us info@barest.shoes or fill out the form in our Contact page. We’re always here to support you, and if necessary, we will also get in touch with the shipping company to help clarify the situation.

If your order is returned to us as undeliverable — for example, due to an incorrect address or contact information or missed delivery notifications — we’ll treat it as a regular return. In these cases, we will refund your order minus the actual outbound and return shipping costs once the parcel arrives back at our warehouse.

To avoid this situation, please double-check that your delivery address and contact details are correct, and keep an eye on the tracking updates sent by the carrier.

Order can be refunded usually after it has first been received and then returned to us. This is because we aim to act quite quickly after receiving your order and send it on it’s way in a few working days.

If you change your mind about your order and let us know as soon as possible and we haven’t yet sent out the package then the process for the refund is fast and simple.

But in a more usual situation you first need to arrange returning the relevant products. Read the Returns section to get more information about that.

Once your return arrives to our warehouse we’ll inspect it first. We aim to do this in 5 working days. After the shoes have been inspected by us, we’ll email you to confirm that the return has been received and whether your refund has been approved.

When approved, the refund will be processed automatically to your original payment method within a few business days.

If you haven’t received your refund within this timeframe:

  1. Please check your bank account or credit card again to be sure.

  2. Contact your bank/payment provider — it may take some time for the refund to appear.

  3. If you’ve done both and still haven’t received it, please reach out to us at info@barest.shoes or reply to the email we sent regarding the return-refund.

Please note that partial refunds may apply if items are used, damaged, or missing parts not due to our error.

We want you to love your Barest shoes but if for any reason you’re not fully satisfied, you may return your purchase within 100 days of delivery for a full refund (excluding shipping costs).

To qualify for a return, your shoes must:
👉 Be unused and in original condition.
👉
Be returned in their original packaging.
👉 Be suitable for resale.

Basically, they should be in a condition you would feel comfortable receiving as the next customer.

In general the cost of return shipping is covered by the customer. 

However, please note that we offer FREE returns in the following countries:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

Free returns work with shipping company DPD and you have to take your return to your closest DPD pickup-point after receiving specific instructions from us.

All returns must be registered using the return request FORM in the end of this page. We’ll follow up with the appropriate return instructions.

Defect or wrong item received

If you happen to receive the wrong size or your shoes arrive defective, we will of course take care of it.
Simply fill out the return form below as you would for a regular return and include a photo of the issue. Our team will get back to you within 3 working days with instructions on the next steps.

We’ll make sure your replacement reaches you as quickly as possible, so you can enjoy your Barest shoes without delay.

Exchanging for a different size

If you simply ordered the wrong size, we don’t offer direct size exchanges. However, you can return your shoes within 100 days of delivery and place a new order for the correct size. This way, you’ll still enjoy your Barest shoes in the perfect fit.

Remember, returns are FREE in many European countries, so you can use this option with your unused shoes without worry. Here is a list of countries with free return option:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

Tips for keeping your shoes in perfect condition while trying them on:

  • Try your shoes on a clean, dry indoor surface (avoid outdoor or rough floors).
  • To be extra safe, place a sheet of paper, cloth or other protective paper between the shoes and the floor or try the shoes on on a carpet.
  • Make sure your feet are clean and dry.
  • Wear socks or stockings while trying them on.

Returns policy safeguards

To protect the fairness of our returns process, we may deny additional return requests or limit service for customers whose order history shows repeated excessive returns or abuse of the refund system. This allows us to keep our policy consistent and sustainable for all customers.

Name of the project: Launching the barefoot shoe brand Barest.
During the two-year project period, we aim to:

  • Achieve monthly sales of 150 pairs of shoes (with a five-year plan to reach sales of at least 400 pairs per month);
  • develop at least 1 new model per year;
  • become a well-known barefoot shoe brand in Estonia and neighboring countries.

Amount of the grant: €20,000.
